CLEVELAND, Mrs. Pearlean - Age 79, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 2120 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon. Rev. Leroy Reeves, Jr., officiating, Pastor Keith J. Bigelow, Sr., Host Pastor. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Cleveland will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Perlean Cleveland was born February 6, 1932 in Boyle, Mississippi. Perlean was a long time member of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member of the Usher Board, as well as the Eastern Star. She was a long time employee of the Summerfields of Summerfield Chevrolet. Perlean enjoyed watching her westerns and playing cards with friends. She was most proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The legacy that she leaves will carry on in a family that she cherished with all her heart. Mrs. Cleveland leaves to cherish her memories: 5 grandchildren, Darion Johnson of Kentucky, Dashan Johnson of Jackson MI, Derrick Johnson, Jevon (Nikki) Kelso and Darryl Harris, all of Flint; 10 great grandchildren, Shakeia, DaRon, Olandis, Ssasha, Daraeshia, Daisa, Crystal, Jordan, Darienne and Mayla; 1 sister, Julia Reid of Chicago, IL.; 2 nieces, Roseanne and Cheryl Anne both of Chicago; 6 nephews John Earl, James, Sammy, Jimmy, Edward and Charles; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Carolyn Hawkins, Nikki Canada, Chris Payton, Jamie Wright, Bernedatte, Turner, Charlotte and Otis Murphy, Cleo, Ernestine, Effie, Bud and Mibs Summerfield and Cookie. Mrs. Cleveland was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Cleveland; son, Larry Johnson; daughter, Deloris Turner; 2 sister, Evelin Chew, Texana Lange ; brother, Buddy Rush; and uncle, Charlie Logan.
