SPEARS, Mr. Perkins "Poo Poo" - Age 51, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2 p.m. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Friday. Mr. Spears will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Perkins Junior “Poo-Poo” Spears was born March 27, 1959 in Flint, the son of Dorothy Spears and Perkins Hodge. He attended Flint Public Schools and had a trade in carpentry. Perkins had a love for all antique Cadillac’s but he specialized in making us laugh all the time. He was baptized at the Church of God in Christ at an early age. Mr. Perkins Junior Spears leaves to cherish his memory: wife: Olivia “Terri” Spears; daughter, Torinna Willis; 3 grandsons, Mark Peterson, Vernard and Chrishon Trammell, all of Wichita Falls, TX; brother, Lewis (Geneva) Spears of Flint; sister, Catherine Keyes; 5 special nieces, Chataqua Poindexter of Oklahoma, Caprina Beal of Yulee, FL, Ma’Sheka Spears, Lynette Spears and Kesonna Taylor; 5 special nephews, Damion Poindexter, Breion Spears, Geron Couty, Deonco Jones, all of Flint, and Carl Beal of Yulee, FL; 5 aunts, Helen Duckett, Faye Spears, Marva Hodge, Bertha McLaughlin and Mary Hodge; 2 uncles, Milton (Darlene) Hodge and Virgil Spears, all of Flint; 5 special cousins, Johnny and Ricky Player, Sharon Wells, Twyla Stockman and Tobi Isom; mother and father-in-law, Theophlis and Lelia Poindexter; 2 sisters-in-law, Valgusta Taylor and Ruby Spears; 4 brothers-in-law, James (Brenda) Poindexter, Edward (Michelle) Poindexter, Derrick and Darryl Poindexter, all of Flint; and a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, Daryl Knott, Kevin Knott and Crystal Montgomery. Mr. Spears was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Spears and Perkins Hodge; sister, Mardell Spears; and brothers, Michael and Larry Spears.
