Mrs. Pearl Barnes

BARNES, Mrs. Pearl - Age 80, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G0-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Barnes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Pearl Barnes was born May 30, 1935 in Drew, Mississippi, the daughter of Henry and Hattie Robinson. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Pearl attended schools in Gary, IN where she met James Barnes. She later moved to Chicago, IL where they were married, and then to Flint, MI. Pearl was a Flint Community Activist, Cougar Mother Club Member at Cook School, Neighborhood Association Member and Block Club President. Mrs. Pearl Barnes leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Rena Abron, Bonnie Barnes, both of Flint and Annette Marzett of Tennessee; 5 sons, Ellzey (Colleen) Isaac of St. Louis, MO, James (Sharon) Barnes of Las Vegas, NV, Ronnie Barnes of St. Louis, MO, Raymond (Tracy) Barnes of Flint and Min. Koby (Debra) Barnes of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Nakeeta, Lynette and Ray, all of St. Louis, MO, Latrina, Saunquina, Donelle, Golden, Egypt, James III, Ronnieka, Ronnice, DeShawn, Ramone, Devon and Demetrius, all of Flint and Absolom of McKinney, TX; 9 great-grandchildren; niece, Katie “Madea” Marsaw; sister-in-law, Josie “Mother” Robinson; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Dorothy Tippins, Geneva Peterson, Ms. Angie, Anita Glover and Ms. Martha. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, James “Pug” Barnes; parents, Henry and Hattie Robinson; 3 sisters, Gelina Robinson, Edna Robinson and Geneva Robinson; 3 brothers, George Robinson, Sylvester Robinson and James Robinson, Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Davita Dialysis-Hurley Plaza, Davita Dialysis-Hallwood Plaza, Patriot Ambulance family and Court Street Commons family. We would like to give an extra special thanks to Latoya Thames and Justin Motley.
