JONES, Mr. Paul Edward - Age 57, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at Genesys Health Park. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Daniel Moore, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Monday. Mr. Paul Edward Jones was born May 7, 1956 in Flint, Michigan, the son of John and Sarah Jones. Paul was the youngest son of 12 children. He graduated from Flint Central High School, “Class of 1975.” Paul accepted Christ at an early age. After retiring in Atlanta, Georgia, Paul returned home to his loving family in Flint to live in 2008. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring after many years. Paul loved to cook and entertain his family and friends and would always make us laugh singing. He thought he had the voice of Eddie Kendricks of the Temptations, his favorite singing group, but really couldn’t hold a note. Paul was also good at Billards. He leaves to cherish his memory: former wife, Barbara Vickers Hurtt; son, Antonio E. Jones of Flint; 5 sisters, Valarie Jones Armstrong of Flint, Threather “Doll” Jones of Ft. Wayne, IN, Brenda (James) Poindexter of Flint, Linda Jones of Flint and Ella Jones of Tennessee; 5 brothers, Chalmer (Denise) Avery of Flint, Lonnie (Joycelyn) Jones of Brentwood, CA, Davie (Lisa) Love, Robert (Patricia) Jones, all of Flint, and Roy Jones of Atlanta, GA; many loving nieces including special niece, Jequiesha Gray; many loving nephews; 2 aunts, Pastor Barbara Bettis and Lina Hall; uncle, Henry Love, all of Flint; many loving cousins, other relatives and friends including extended family mom, Evelyn Roulhac, Poindexter family, special cousins, Michael Lee of Atlanta, GA, Steve Hall of Flint, special friends, Stanley Langston, Edward Reids, Shalina Allen and his Holbrook Street neighbors, all of Flint. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sarah Love; grandmother, Maggie Love; brother, James Curtis Love, who preceded Paul in death, October 7, 2011; many aunts and uncles. The family would like to express special thanks to Genesys Health Park ICU nurses and staff, Pastor Daniel Moore and the Shiloh Baptist Church family, Curtis Johnson, Jr., Bethel United Methodist Church, Mother Roulhac, Joe Langston and many family members and friends.
