PACE, Ms. Patty "Patsy" - Age 77, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at her residence. Family hour 11:00 AM Friday, January 24, 2020 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM, Pastor Patrick Sanders Sr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 11:00 AM Friday. Ms. Pace will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Mrs. Patty “Patsy” Ann Pace was born made peaceful transition form life on Thursday, January 16, 2020 with her family by her side. Patty was born in Conway, Arkansas on September 5, 1942, the daughter of Robert and Ethel Lewis. She attended Pine Street High School in Conway, AR. Patty was very popular, everyone knew her and she knew them. Patty moved to Flint, Michigan in January of 1965 to begin a long career with A.C. Spark Plug Delhi East, a division of General Motors Corporation and was a member of UAW Local #651. Patty was very active in the organization assisting in many of their Black History Programs. She accepted Christ at an early age. After moving to Flint she joined Greater Holy Temple Church Of God In Christ under the leadership of Bishop Roger L. Jones Sr. where she faithfully served on the Usher Board and other ministries for nearly 50 years. Patty loved traveling throughout the city to musicals, revivals and anywhere she thought there was a good service. She later joined New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Patrick W. Sanders Sr. where she continued to usher in spite of her illness and remained until her passing. Patty was a loving, caring, hardworking mother and provider. She was devoted to her 4 sons and 2 daughters. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, watching westerns and gardening. Patty loved listening to Gospel music and she genuinely loved God and saving money. Mrs. Patty Ann Pace leaves to cherish her memory: 3 sons, Rodney (Carol) Pace, Robert Pace and Alex Pace; 2 daughters, Alexis Pace and Anaria Pace; 5 grandchildren, Demarious, Kaylyne, Deandre, Aaron, Shanita and Marcus Pace; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ioma (Ben) Bryant, Bobbie Landers and Louise (Raymond) Green; brother, Glen Lewis; a host of niece and nephews including special nephew, Tony Lewis; sister-in-law, Faye Lewis; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Leon Martin and Versa Berry. Mrs. Pace was preceded in death by her son, Andre Pace; grandsons, Alex “Al” Pace and Roshad Butler; parents, Robert and Ethel Lewis; grandparents, Mary and Rhoden Acklin; siblings, Athalean Alford, Vernesteen Nelson, Otis Lewis and Charles Lewis.
