Mrs. Patricia Stokes

STOKES, Mrs. Patricia - Age 76, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at her residence. Family hour 11:30 AM Friday, January 22, 2021 at Christ the King Church, 1811 Seymour Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 noon, Father Phil Schmitter, officiating. Interment New Calvary Catholic Cemetery G-4142 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Stokes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mrs. Patricia Stokes was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at home with her daughters and granddaughters by her side. Patricia was born July 16, 1944 in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Calvin M. and Ada B. Clark. She was a resident of Flint, Michigan all of her life and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School, “Class of 1962.” Patricia was a faithful and dutiful member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She was employed at General Motors Corporation for 32 years, and as Christ the King Secretary for 17 years and afterwards she was Advent Reader. Patricia travelled everywhere, even in her frailest moments, she cared to help others. She loved her Christ the King family. Mrs. Patricia Stokes leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Katherine M. (William) Grays of Highland Park, MI, Pamela Stokes and Rose M. Stokes, both of Flint; 4 grandchildren, CoLisa P. (Darnell) Perkins of Novi, MI, Arlanna P. Stokes of Flint, Davell M. (Erena) Stokes of Warren, MI and Chatoria R. (Michael) Wharton of Fort Mitchell, AL; 6 great-grandchildren, Kristina M. Stokes, Aaron A. Stokes and Zara M. Perkins, all of Michigan, Raegan M. Thomas, Guinevere R. Wharton and Augustus A. Wharton, all of Alabama; niece, Diane Stokes; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends. Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin M. and Ada B. Calloway, step-father, Johnnie Calloway; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Hulon and Rosabell (Porter) Washington; former husband, William Freddie Stokes; aunt, Hulon Carpenter; uncle, Mr. Frank Carpenter; mother and father-in-law, Oscar and Lillian Stokes; sister-in-law, Sylvia M. Stokes. The family wishes to express special thanks to her dear and devoted “Posse”, Eartha Logan, Harriet “Jeanice” Hall, Jackie Wilson, Anita Myles and Anttionette “Toni” Harrison. The family also thanks Dr. Paul and Teresa Musson, the staff at DaVita Flint Hurley and Dr. Sahni.
