BURNETT, Ms. Pamela Jean - Age 52, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at Detroit Medical Center, Detroit, MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, March 22, 2019 at Triumph Church-Flint Campus, 1657 Broadway Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Lawrence Vaughn, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Ms. Burnett will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday with the family present from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM to receive friends. Ms. Pamela Jean Burnett was born February 1, 1967 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Rev. Dr. C.A. and Eddye Burnett. She was a resident of Oak Park, MI and was a member of Triumph Church in Southfield, MI. Pamela attended Flint Northern High School and graduated with the “Class of 1985.” She attended Wilberforce University and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saginaw Valley State University. Pamela was a Probation Parole Agent for the State of Michigan. She enjoyed exercising, shopping, dining out and spending time with family. Pamela also volunteered as the Chairperson for American Cancer Society Detroit Relay for Life and the Chairperson for Pebbles for Hope. Ms. Pamela Jean Burnett leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Eddye Burnett of Flint; father, Rev. Dr. C.A. (Dafora) Burnett of Flint Twp., MI; 4 sisters, Verna Lynn Burnett of Flint, Emma Renae Burnett of Novi, MI, Shun-zz Burnett and Katrina Ware, both of Flint; brother, Marvin Ware of North Carolina; 4 nieces, LaNisha Burnett of Columbus, OH, Nathasha Jackson of Flint, Asia Cockhern of Southgate, MI and Na’Ja Gipson; 4 nephews, Herbert Jackson, JayQuan Lambert, MarQuan Elridge, all of Flint and Andrico Gipson of Houston, TX; 6 aunts, Pressie (James) Lipkin, Geneva Hatten, all of Flint, Densi (Robert) Hollenbeck, Joyce Dye, all of Milwaukee, WS, Georgeann Izard of Virginia and Josephine Dye of Dallas, TX; 4 uncles, James Scurlark, Albert Scurlark of Flint, Mark Scurlark of South Carolina and Gerald Scurlark of Alabama; 2 great-uncles, Walter (Jessie) Scurlark of Texas and Jerome Burnett of Flint; cousin, Fatima Walker; a host of other relatives and special friends including, Missy Jackson, Yvettia Smith, Labaron Bailey, Michelle Strozier, Stephanie Barbee and Eliea Murray. Ms. Burnett was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Essie Scurlark and Isabelle Dye; grandfather, Roosevelt Scurlark; and uncles, Charles Redmond and Willie Scurlark.
