Mrs. Ossie Mae Fields

FIELDS, Mrs. Ossie Mae - Age 87, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, February 9, 2018 at Greater Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C, 6702 N. Dort Hwy., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Bishop Roger L. Jones Sr., Host Pastor, Pastor James Fields officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Fields will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home,906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Mrs. Ossie Mae Fields was born August 20, 1930 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Hilliard and Annie Bell Wills as Octavie. She later changed her name to what we know her as Ossie. Ossie loved to spend time with her sisters, they all shared jokes and endless times laughing. Ossie also loved listening to gospel music; her favorite was quartet music. She would tell unforgettable stories to her children and later go on to share with her grandchildren. Ossie was a devoted member of Christ Deliverance Center where she was a member of the Usher Board and later Mother of the church. Mother Fields was so devoted to being a mother she decided to foster children for over 20 years after raising her 6 boys. She also worked at Family owned businesses the Ellison’s AFC home and Allen’s Amical Home as a caregiver. Mrs. Ossie Mae Fields leaves to cherish her memory: loving sons, Alvis Lee Allen of Battle Creek, MI, James William Fields Jr. of Flushing MI, Curtis William Fields, Frank Oliver Fields, both of Mount Morris, MI, Michael Earl (Sherrita) Fields of Atlanta, GA and Robert Leteef Fields of Flint; two sisters, Verlene Barker of Romulus, MI and Verde Mae Wills of Bridgeport, MI; brother, Joe (Betty) Wills of Romulus, MI; sister-n-law, Barbara Wills of Mount Morris Township, MI; 20 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by her husband, James William Fields; great-granddaughter, Ashyrinta Clemons; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hilliard Wills; sisters, Shirley Wills, Maxine (Jessie) McGhee, and Charlean Ellison; brothers, Hilliard (Essie) Wills Jr. and Frank Oliver Wills; brother-n-law, Apostle Glen Nichols; sister-n-law, Lucille Wills. The family wishes to extend special thanks to McLaren Hospice Care staff.
