Mr. Oscar Jones

JONES, Mr. Oscar - age 57, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at his residence. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Robert Parrish officiating. Interment Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, 2020 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Oscar Jones was born June 5, 1956 in Flint, MI, the son of Oliver and Naomi (Parrish) Jones Sr. Oscar Jones was a resident of Flint, MI. He graduated from Beecher High School in 1974. He attended Mott College and obtained a journeyman painter’s certification in 1977. He worked in various locations throughout the country as a commercial and industrial painter for over 30 years. Oscar Jones enjoyed spending time with his family while playing pool, cards, and chess. Oscar found great pleasure in passionate conversations with anyone who would join in. Throughout his illness, he became humble and appreciative for all the love and care he received. Mr. Oscar leaves to cherish his memory: caring parents, Oliver and Naomi Jones of Auburn Hills, MI; 3 brothers, Victor (LaVonzella) Jones of Flint, MI; Twin brother Oliver Jones of Auburn Hills, MI; and Anthony Jones of Pontiac, MI; 4 loving children: Eric (Kimberly) Jones, Toi (Ephraim) Lowe; Kennan Jones all of Flint, MI; and Asha (Mark) Jones of Raleigh, NC; 3 Nieces: Cheryl (Donnell) Cornelius of Flint, MI, Janell (Rashard) Jones of Southfield, MI, LaFoyya Jones of Detroit, MI; 3 Nephews Brian (Monica) Joshua of Flint, MI, Pastor Johnny (Dhannetta) Brown of Flushing, MI, Eric (Shenita) Brown of Flint, MI; 15 grandchildren; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins including special friends and family Anita Joshua, Herbert Pate, Kit Walk (International UAW Rep) Regina Robert, He was preceded in death by uncle, Gerald Jones Sr., Robert Pogue, Richard Harris, James Pogue Jr. and Arhir Rich Sr.; aunts, Emily Robinson, Marjorie Echols, and Judy Riley; grandson, Christopher Jones Special thanks to Mclaren Hospice, Dr. Black, and Hurely Regional Medical Center.
