BOYLSTON, Mr. Oscar C. - Age 77, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Genesys Hospice Center in Goodrich. Family hour 1:30PM at the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., funeral service commencing at 2PM. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home. Brother Jessie Belk, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mr. Boylston now lies in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Wednesday. Oscar C. Boylston, better known as "O.C." attended school in Jonesboro, LA. After serving in the army he moved to Flint, MI to work at Fisher Body- Coldwater Rd. Shortly after he married Alpha Hamlin in 1954. Together they raised 5 childern: Clavin E. Boylston, Louis A. Boylston, Jeffrey D. (Sylvia) Boylston, Raymond Boylston (deceased), and Antoinette (Timothy) McQueen. O.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Edward C. and Fannie B. Boylston. He had 4 siblings: W.D. Boylston (deceased), Mary D. Boylston (deceased), Della Dykes (deceased), and Alice (Rufus) Gibson. To his grandchildren he was known as "Paw-Paw", an endearing name given to him by one of his very special daughter-in-laws, Delawn Holliday. His grandchildren ware Calvin (Contrena) Boylston, DeJuan Boylston, Kinisha (Louis) Miles, Monique Boylston, Janeen (Andie) Evans, Ramun Holliday, Antoine Boylston, Karrin Boylston, Steven Boylston, Kamille (Rickie) Lyons, Brittney Boylston & Nicholas McQueen. Paw-Paw leaves behind a host of great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. O.C. will be missed by sisters-in-laws, Marvenia (Raymond) Drem and Janet Mustafaa. Brother-in-law, John (Sybil) Hamlin. Nephews: Reggie (deceased), Michael, Rodney, Marvin (Beth) Diem, Ian, and Rashun. Nieces: Kim and Monica. Special thanks to aunt Nannie Waddell, Jonathan Waddell, the Rudolph McCarty family, Karen and the Williams Family, and the Alma Street family. O.C. enjoyed fishing, playing cards, shooting pool, walking by the lake, feeding the squirrels, and watching western movies. A man who was rarely seen without his hat or a cap on his head. He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him.
