JONES, Mrs. Ora "Ordie" - Age 58, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday Feburary 7, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10a.m. - 6p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Ora “Ordie” Jones was born on September 2, 1952 in Minter City, Mississippi, the daughter of Bessie Pearl and Otis Gadison. Mrs. Jones was a resident of Flint since 1953. She attended Flint Public Schools and graduated from Flint Northern High School. Mrs. Jones was a member of King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones was formerly married to James Jones. Ora loved drawing, sewing, puzzles, bingo and playing cards. She was a former employee of The Design Factory. Mrs. Ora Ordie” Jones leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Sheila (Calvin) McDaniel, Tia (Micheal) Cager and Latrece Jones; 2 sons, James Jones, Jr. (Danniel Brown) and Jamaal Keon Jones; 13 grandchildren, Keima (Terence, Sr.) Kiff, Monique, Banay, DeAndre, CJ, Justine, Diontay, Makayla, Malik, Teria, Taylor, Brooklyn and Christian; 6 great grandchildren, Terence, Jr., Brandon, TaQundre, Ziona, Taron and Ai’niyah; 4 sisters, Gloria, Cora and Ernestine Gadison, all of Flint and Barbara Jenkins of Anchorage, Alaska; 3 brothers, Joseph, Leroy and Adrian Gadison, all of Flint; 2 aunts, Delores Bunch of Flint and Geneva Davis; uncle, Paul Sally, both of Greenwood, MS; 2 special cousins, Warnester Bailey of Flint and Gloria Banks of Clarksdale, MS; a host of nieces and nephews including special niece, Helen Lewis; a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Bessie Pearl Gadison; 2 sisters, Eva Peters and Atlean Cooper; nephew, Chino Dion Cooper; and cousin, Linnie B. Triplett. The family would like to express a special thanks to Hurley Medical Center 9th floor staff, Hurley Chemo Clinic, Nurse, Mary Frank and CNA, Yuonka Rushing.
