Mrs. Ola Mae Woods

WOODS, Mrs. Ola Mae - Age 72, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, April 7, 2017 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Lewis Randolph, Host Pastor, Rev. Michael Gibson officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Woods will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday, with the family present from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM to receive friends. Mrs. Ola Mae (Dodds) Woods was born September 9, 1944 in Mellwood, Arkansas as the surviving twin daughter of Louis and Emma Dodds. She attended Flint Community Schools graduating from Flint Northern in 1963. Ola married James Curtis Hill of which two sons were born. Later she married James Thomas “Jim” Woods. Sister Woods was a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Lewis Randolph, Where she served with the choir, usher board, and as a Trustee. Mrs. Ola Mae Woods was a member of local #651 and employed by AC Spark Plug (Delphi) a division of General Motors until her retirement. Her pastime, hobby and passion was shopping and was considered a sharp dressed woman. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her animals, and laughing and talking with her sisters. Mrs. Ola Mae (Dodds) Woods leaves to cherish in her memory: Two sons, James C. (Keisha) Hill of Atlanta , GA and Daniel G. Hill of Augusta, GA; five grandchildren, Tiana Hill (Joe) Kotz, Jamario Hill, Daniel G. Hill Jr., Jazmine (Antwan) Dean and Mya; four great-grandchildren, Cedric, Jamario, Bryce and Jace; sisters, Mrs. Velma Mae Walker, Mrs. Rose (Marie) Jones, and Mrs. Elnora Maxwell-Davis, and her significant other Mr. James Shelton; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her parents Louis & Emma Dodds, Sister: Ethel Mae Dixon, Brothers Louis Dodds Jr (Buddy), Robert Dodds, Willie Jones and Waverly Dodds We the family wish to thank everyone for their love and support during our time of bereavement.
