Mrs. Ola Jean Nedson

NEDSON, Mrs. Ola Jean - Age 84, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at Majestic Care of Flushing. Family hour 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:30 AM Wednesday. Mrs. Nedson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday. Ola Jean Nedson was February 2, 1939 in Ackerman, Mississippi, the 1st born to the union of Mr. John W. and Mrs. Ozella Davis. Ms. Ola Jean graduated from Liberty Hill High School in Sturgis, MS. Ola Jean was a Devoted, Loving, Strong Willed, and Wise Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She loved to clean, cooking, family time, gardening, Bingo, sewing and traveling. Some of her favorite things to do were listening to the Staple Singers, watching old TV show and listening to other genres of music. She was a Home Health Aide while she worked. Ola Jean also attended New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church until her health started to fail. She also loved to volunteer and did so, as much as she could at the Flint Chapter YWCA. Ola Jean was a beautiful soul and loved her family with all she had and was very protective of her family or any one she loved. Ola Jean Nedson leaves to cherish her memory: 4 loving children, Barbara Ann Potts, Ulise Nedson, Kathleen Nedson and Christine Keyes; 3 loving granddaughters, LaMaya Rimmer, MyTiera Allen and Allahya Keyes, all of Flint; 3 brothers, Booker T. (Ida) Davis of Sturgis, MS, Henry Ezell Davis and Sherman Davis; sister-in-law, Shirley Davis, all of Flint; uncle, Freddie L. Davis of Eupora, MS; a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that she loved dearly. Ola Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. John W. and Mrs. Ozella Davis; infant sister, Mary Magdalene Davis; 2 brothers, John H. Davis and Franklin D. Roosevelt Davis; 2 aunts, Pollie Davis and Sara Davis; son-in-law, Tyree Keyes. The family would like to express special thanks Majestic Care of Flushing and to all who cared, loved, shown concern, visited, called or just showed up when needed. We really appreciate you and your love for our mother. Thank you for your kind acts and gestures. They will not be forgotten. Love her children and granddaughters
