GORDON, Mr. Norris - Age 57, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30PM Tuesday, September 23, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2PM. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Tuesday. Mr. Gordon will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2PM-8PM Monday. Mr. Norris “Dip” Gordon, Sr. was born January 1, 1951 in Pontotoc, Mississippi, the son of Robert and Odell Gordon. He moved to Flint in 1974 at the age of 23. Dip was an operator of a pool hall and chief but his favorite job was to work on cars as a mechanic. He loved cooking for family and friends gatherings. Norris (Da Dippa) his nickname) was a kind hearted and happy person that would help anyone, family, friend or a stranger. He called his children’s friends’ sons and daughters and they loved him like a father. His favorite hobby was fishing with his friends, Henry, Unc, Charles and Bobby. Dip will be missed but nor forgotten by his loved ones and the lives he touched. Mr. Norris “Dip” Gordon, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Judy (Clark) Gordon of 23 years; 4 daughters, Shellete (Curtis Sanders) Clark, Latrice Clark, Joyce (Romeo) Cruz and Christine Gordon; 2 sons, Joseph Clark and Norris Michael Gordon, Jr.; 6 grandchildren, Autiana Hill, Arianna Sesma, Romeo Cruz, Jr., Andre Bard, Jr., Angelina Cruz and Alicia Bard all of Flint; 4 sisters, Ruby Gordon, Mae Loise Gordon, Mary Porter, Ruth Ivory Gordon, Roy Gordon, Ernest Ivory and Bill Ivory all of Pontotoc, MS; 5 brothers-in-law and 4 sisters-in-law, Billy Joe Sims, Jimmie (Phyllis) Clark, James (Rhoda) Clark, Gary (Shelia) Hill all of Flint, MI, Pasty Clark of Detroit, MI, Hebert Felton of TX, many nieces, nephews and close friends remain. Mr. Norris “Dip” Gordon, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Odell Gordon; stepmother, Margaret Ivory; sister, Jeanell Gordon; father and mother-in-law, Jimmie Sr., and Mary Clark; sister-in-law, Mary L. Sims and nephew, James Clark, Jr.
