GREEN, Mrs. Nettie - Age 79, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Regency at Grand Blanc, Grand Blanc, MI. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle, 930 E. Myrtle Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Green will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Friday with family present from 4-6 p.m. Mrs. Nettie "Grace" Green was born the oldest of 13 children November 16, 1935 in Jayess, Mississippi to Oliver and Hazel (Gutter) Manning. Her Life’s Journey: Grace graduated from McCoullah High School in Mississippi. She worked at numerous places: Smith Bridgeman’s, Fisher Body and AC Spark Plug, where she retired. Her passion was cooking, sewing and spending time with her family, especially her great grandson, Granny’s PooPoo (Preston). She was a soft spoken, quiet, compassionate, loving and kind person. Mrs. Green always saw the good in everyone, no matter who they were or what they had done. Her memories: She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Janice (Clyde) Williams; grandsons, Mr. and Mrs. Edmond and Alicia O’Neal of Fort Wayne, IN and Mr. and Mrs. Corey and Camille Kimble of Fenton, MI; great grandchildren, Preston Edward of Fort Wayne, IN, Cadence, Christian and Cameron of Fenton, MI; sisters, Lillie Magee of Jayess, MS, Betty F. Brown, Sara H. Hill, Gussie Nell Ulmer, Ethel Mearl Manning and Kepsa Thomas, all of Flint; brothers, Oliver (Lillie) Manning of Foxworth, MS, David Mims of Vallejo, CA, Artis, Robert, Kellie and Bill Manning, all of Flint; sisters-in-law, Modean Manning of Columbia, MS, Francis (Robert) Ziglar and Rosemary Green, both of North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews including special nephew, Wesley Ulmer; special son and daughter, Rev. Allen and Mrs. Melissa Overton; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Georgia Spence, Marva McDaniel, Hattie Thompson, Mary Coleman, Joe and Jean Kalush, Robert and Wyonne Wilson. Her life’s final farewell: Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband, Joe (2011); parents, Oliver and Hazel Manning; brother, James Manning (Nov. 2014); and god mother, Margaret Davidson.
