PAYTON-RICE, Mr. Neal Devon - Age 24, passed away Friday, February 9, 2007. Family hour 1PM Friday, February 16, 2007 at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, 502 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2PM. Pastor Chester Payton officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 1PM Friday. Mr. Payton-Rice will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Thursday. Mr. Neal Devon Payton-Rice was born June 4, 1982 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Neal Payton and Devoris Rice. Neal was a 2000 graduate of Hamady High School. He attended Devry and Columbus State in Columbus, OH and was presently attending Mott Community College in Flint. Neal enjoyed sports, computers, cooking and shopping. His goal was to become an entrepreneur and operate his own 5 star restaurtant. Neal was a friend indeed to all those he associated with. His smile will be greatly missed. Mr. Neal D. Payton-Rice leaves to cherish his memory: parents, Devoris Rice and Neal Payton; grandparents, Claudia Croom, Herman Irvin of Fairfield, AL and Eld. Lester (Delores) Payton; 2 sisters, Genell Webster and the love of his life his little sister, Christina Payton-Rice; 2 brothers, his best friend, Amario Payton-Rice and Ryan Webster; 7 aunts, Prudence Croom (Kevin) Larry of GA, Lucretia (Lewis) Hollins, Laura (Marzuq) Rahmaad, Montrose (Arnett) Mitchell of GA, Lena (Reginald) Wise of Lansing, Cindy Payton of OH, and Betty Payton of FL; 5 uncles, Kevin Croom of Flint, Lester Payton of CA, Leonard Payton of VA, Walter Payton of GA, and Luther (Tammala) Payton of GA; special cousin, Kenisha Croom, LaTasha Rice, Tammy Rice, Antwan Croom, Lamar Rahmaad, Cortez Tillis, Tramaine Wilson and Devonte McBride; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Charles Sims, Chauncy Wynn, Greg McBride, and Tina Summers. Mr. Payton-Rice was preceded in death by his grandmother, Inez Payton; grandfather, Charles Croom; uncles, Gregory and Weffer Croom; cousins, Brenin Washington and Albert Barnes, Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Roxanne and Hurley Medical Center 5th floor staff, Rising Star Missionary Baptist family, Billie Pritchette and Antionette Williams.
