WILLIS, Mr. Nathaniel - Age 82, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Jacob Hawkins officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mr. Willis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Nathaniel Willis was born October 20, 1932 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of Wilson Willis and Willie (Langston) Moffett. He was the eldest of 9 children. Nathaniel was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. His favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, cooking and watching his favorite team, the Detroit Tigers. Nathaniel was a member of the Local #599 and was employed with Buick City, a division of General Motors, with over 30 years of dedicated service. Mr. Nathaniel Willis leaves to cherish: his soul mate and wife of over 60 years, Bennie Ruth Willis; 3 daughters, Ruthy M. (Dea. Bill R.) Quarles of Holly, MI, Linda Willis of Atlanta, GA, Brenda Willis of Flint; son, Anthony Willis of Flint; 4 grandchildren, Jeremiah (Candice) Quarles of Texas, Jonathan (Barika) Quarles of Grosse Pointe, MI, Anthony Willis, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Antonia Camay Willis of Nashville, TN; 4 great-grandchildren, Bella Ari Quarles, Avery Nicole Quarles, Jai Lorene Quarles and Chloe Willis; 4 sisters, Geraldine (James) Deshazier of Pine Bluff, AR, Freddie Golden of St. Louis, MO, Lena Mae Willis of Pine Bluff, AR, and Theresa (Robert) Booker of Nashville, TN; 2 brothers, William Willis of Los Angeles, CA, and Arthur Willis of Flint; sisters-in-law, Marie Holman, Annie Mae Dye, Maggie (Mural) Chew, Juanita (Joseph) Roberts and Eleanor James; 4 god-children, Tarvonion McLilly, Carrington and Colby Wiggins of Flint, and Jozette Brown of Atlanta, GA; special friends, Mrs. Ruth Wilson, Nate & Polly Johnson, Sadie & Bernard Wright, Nita & Bernard Hawkins; special cousin, Mildred Buggs; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Willis; parents, Wilson Willis and Willie Moffett; sisters, Jeanette Johnson and Earselene Jordan; mother and father-in-law, Bynum and Hattie James; sister-in-law, Evelyn Sargent; brother-in-law, Joe Dye.
