Mr. Nathaniel Davis

DAVIS, Nathaniel - Age 62, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at McLaren-Flint. Mr. Davis will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and a Public Viewing will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with the family present from 12:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m. Mr. Nathaniel Davis was born on January 14, 1953 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Alex Sr. and Willie Mat (Douglas) Davis. Nathaniel was born and reared in Flint, Michigan and was the last of 8 children. He attended Flint Northwestern High School graduating in 1973. Because of his passion for style he attended Edwards School of Cosmetology; he graduated February 1994 and became a Certified Licensed Stylist/Barber. Nathaniel’s love and passion for his family and friends was contagious; and kept a smile on his face. Although he would fuss and raise his voice he would never allow the day to end without expressing his love. He enjoyed reading, music, cutting hair, family gatherings, and fellowshipping with everyone including his Family Worship Center Church International Church family. Mr. Nathaniel Davis leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Jacqueline Holmes (Yusef Robinson); 2 grandsons, Emmett Michael Richardson III, Napoleon Nathan Odom III; sister, Madeline (Ola Jr.) Mills, all of Flint; 2 aunts, Lillie Hayslett of Nashville, TN and Dorothy Clement of Cordova, TN; 2 uncles, Charles Quarles of Sommerville, TN and David Quarles of Memphis, TN; sister-in-law, Sharon K. Davis of Flint; brother-in-law, Ola Mills, Jr. of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, fiancé, Ladesta Gaines; mother of his daughter, JoAnn (Holmes) Arterberry; and friend, Don McNeal. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his father, Alex R. Davis, Sr.; mother, Willie Mat (Douglas) Davis; 4 brothers, Alex Jr., Willis, Earnest and Alvin Davis; 2 sisters, Aldean Davis and LouDorothy “Dot” Chatmon; sister-in-law, Patricia Davis; and niece, Tracey Sanders. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastors Timothy and Tonya C. Stokes and the Family Worship Center Church International Church family, the staff’s of University of Michigan Hospital-Ann Arbor, MI, Heritage Manor and McLaren-Flint.
