Mrs. Nariss Hunter

HUNTER, Mrs. Nariss - Age 54, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2 p.m. Pastor Lewis Randolph officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 1:30 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Hunter will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Nariss Hunter was born May 26, 1958 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Howard and Clemmie Washington. Nariss located to Flint from Memphis, Tennessee in 1975. She attended school in Memphis, Tennessee. Nariss was a homemaker who loved her family, playing board games, cards and cooking. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Frank Hunter; 2 sons, Andre (Gwendolyn) Washington and Cedric (Traci) Washington, all of Flint; 3 step children, Georgia Mae Williams and India Walker, both of Flint and Tanyakencia Hunter of Jackson, MS; 5 grandchildren, Cedric Washington Jr., Andre Washington Jr., Kierra Washington, Markayla Davis and Drue Washington, all of Flint; 5 sisters, Shirley (Roy) Collins of Flint, Patricia Bennett of Memphis, TN, Diniah (James) Daniels of Fairbank, Alaska, Heniretta Bennett and Howard Jean Bennett, all of Flint; aunt, Minnie Boose of Grand Blanc, MI; uncle, Thomas Davis of South Carolina; 4 sisters-in-law, Betty McCreary, Lillie Hunter, Stella Reed and Joyce Hunter; brother-in-law, Charles Hunter, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Steve and Dorothy Martin of Madison, WI, Faye Lloyd of Flint and the Suttles family of Lansing, MI. Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her parents, Clemmie and Howard Washington; grandmother, Heniretta Bennett; uncles, Andrew and Riley Hurt; and nephew, Marcus Bennett.
