Deacon Napoleon Moore

MOORE, Deacon Napoleon - Age 86, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at First Union Baptist Church, 7004 Fleming Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Archie Powell, Jr. Host Pastor. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Wednesday. Deacon Moore will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday. Deacon Napoleon Moore was born October 2, 1933 in Stallo, Mississippi, one of sixteen children born to Wilson and Callie Moore. Napoleon attended Public School in Stallo and Philadelphia, MS and graduated from Hopewell High School. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army serving for 2 years and was Honorably Discharged in 1955. In 1968, Napoleon met and married Hattie Fitzpatrick and their blended family consisted of 4 children, Olson, Nathaniel, Jezette and Bryant “Keith”. Deacon Moore accepted Christ at an early age. He continued his religious journey by being a member at First Union Baptist Church. There he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board until 2018. He also sang in the Voices of First Union Old Folks Choir and the Mighty Male Chorus. Napoleon was employed at Flint Truck & Bus, a division of General Motors Corporation and retired in 1999 after 42 years of dedicated service. He loved watching sports, baseball, his favorites were, the Baltimore Orioles and Tiger Woods. Napoleon was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He also loved his family, singing and working in his yard. Deacon Napoleon Moore leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 51 years, Hattie Moore; 3 sons, Nathaniel (Patricia) Moore, Bryant “Keith” (Sabrena) Moore, all of Flint and Wilbert Moore of Rochester, NY; 10 grandchildren, Natalie (Alex) Kadie, Keysa Smith, Nariah Moore, Brittany Moore, Keyona Moore, Takoya Anderson, all of Flint, Bryant (Nikki) Ford of Alexandria, LA and Karon Hudson of Flint, Nathanial Moore and Jasmine Moore; great-grandchildren, KaRon Hudson, Ka’Ryai, Koulure, Klarity Swims, Paris Mae Boyd, Amere and Amarr Blake, Cashmere Bengay, Alex Kadie III, Jurni Smith, Ke’Nyla Campbell, Jayceon Peat, Karmen Campbell, Bria, Bre’asia, Bre’Niya, Brionna, B.J. and Branein Ford; 4 sisters, Valine Kirkland of Gary, IN, Grithal (Earl) Glass of Sui Sum, CA, Thelma (Arthur) Well of Philadelphia, MS and Nedia Ray (James) Netters of Memphis, TN; 4 brothers, Patrick (Ruth) Moore of Saginaw, MI, Hulbert Moore of Gary, IN, Houston (Martha) Moore and Therman (Sylvia) Moore, all of Philadelphia, MS; aunt, Glady Arkent Moore of San Bernardino, CA; uncle, Robert Elms More of California; 4 sisters-in-law, Daisy Moore, Louise Moore, both of Flint, Elizabeth Moore of Philadelphia, MS and Josephine Fitzpatrick of Fort Smith, AR; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Deacon Moore was preceded in death by his daughter, Jezette Moore; son, Olson Moore; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wilson and Callie Moore; grandparents; 2 sisters, Genoa Edwards and Melonize Cheatman; 5 brothers, Levi Moore, Clarence Moore, J.H. Moore, Walter Moore and Benjamin Moore; daughter-in-law, Sabrena Moore; mother & father-in-law, Sandy and Marie Fitzpatrick; 4 sisters-in-law, Ann Thompson, Mary Moore, Dorthory Moore and Annie C. Moore; 7 brothers-in-law, Melvin Edwards, TC Kirkland, James Thompson, Wendell Fitzpatrick, Mack Fitzpatrick, Clyde Brassell and Martin Fitzpatrick.
