GOSSETT, Mother Naomi C. - Age 87, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Regency of Grand Blanc in Grand Blanc, MI. Family hour 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Elder Christopher Pryor officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Wednesday. Mother Gossett will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday. On Wednesday, March 8, 2017, our dearly beloved mother transitioned from life to everlasting life, with her daughter Linda by her side. Mother Naomi C. Gossett had a great gift of prayer and prophecy. She was a Licensed Evangelist in the Church Of God In Christ. Mother Gossett served with the Prayer & Bible Band, Missionary Circle and Mother’s Board. She was a firm believer that you must be born again and be filled with the Holy Ghost. Mother Gossett loved to dance in the spirit and she believed in speaking in tongues as the spirit gave utterance. She was a long time member of Greater Holy Temple under the leadership of Bishop Roger L. Jones Sr. until she moved her membership to Victorious Believers Ministries in Saginaw, MI under the leadership of the late Bishop Marvin C. Pryor. Mother Gossett was affectionately called “Mama” by all of us. All who knew her, knew she loved to laugh until she cried. She also loved spending time with her family eating, shopping and traveling. “Mama’s” hobbies including baking homemade biscuits, making pumpkin pies, sewing, pressing & curling hair and riding the city bus. Mother Naomi C. Gossett leaves to cherish her memory: beloved daughter, Ms. Linda F. Pryor; son, Patrick Frey; sisters, Mrs. Odessa (Shalto) Gilmore and Ms. Willie F. Cawthon; brother-in-love, Pastor Walter T. (Jackie) Pryor; 8 grandchildren, Tracy Pryor, Stacey (Eugene) Pryor-Marve, Kym (Lonnie) Stubbs, Porsha Frey, Erika Jones, Angela Mays, Rebecca and Robert Marve; 6 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Aaliah, Kiara, Samiya, Cori and Dallas; a host of other relatives and friends including special longtime friends, Ms. Jackie Gray, Mr. & Mrs. James Huddleston, Ms. Jackie Broadway, Mr. Melvin Cotton, Ms. Maxine Hill, Ms. Pamela Nelson, Mr. & Mrs. James Nash, Mother Clara Thomas, Mother Margaret Brodus and Mother Izora Eldridge. Mother Gossett was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly K. Mays; son, Randall Guinn; parents, Tom and Ella May Cawthon; sisters, Angeline Scott, Roberta Pryor and Eula V. Parker; brothers, Bennie, Houston and LV Cawthon.
