Mrs. Nancy Lee Richardson

RICHARDSON, Mrs. Nancy Lee - Age 82, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2016 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw Street, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Min. Joann Brown officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Monday. Mrs. Richardson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday, with the family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mrs. Nancy Lee Richardson was born May 21, 1934 in West Memphis, Arkansas, the daughter of Bertha Mae Collins and George Holmes. She attended West Memphis Public School System and later moved to Flint, MI in 1952. Mrs. Richardson joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in 1963 and was a member of the Melody Chorus, Inspirational Voices, Circle of Moses, Floral Club and Sunday School Class #7. She was employed by General Motors, retiring after 28 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659. Nancy loved cooking, shopping, fishing and spending time with her family. She also loved caring for her dog, “Mookie”, whom she had spoiled. Mrs. Nancy Richardson leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Brenda Brown, Ernestine Watson and Vanessa (Michael) Wilburn, all of Flint; son, George Kelly of Grand Rapids, MI; 13 grandchildren, Akeem Kelly, Shontamona Kelly, Nancy Kelly, Jamile Stone, Quannshelia Grandberry, Yaka, Temeka and Landricka Watson, Jamar Keyes, Jaqualeon Hudson, Michael Jr., Courtney and Myrakle Wilburn; 20 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; brother, Ernest (Betty) Bass of Fort Wayne, IN; aunt, Malinda Pittmon of Holly, MI; nieces, Dorothy Nimok of Fort Worth, TX, Sheila Bass Shell of Chicago, IL, Shirley Synder, Jean Bass and Allicia Bass, Tracey Nimok, and Angela Balous all of Flint; nephew, Omar Bass of Fort Wayne, IN; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special cousin, Florine Jones. Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Sammie Richardson; daughter, Carolyn Holmes; son, Louis Kelly; parents, Bertha Collins and George Holmes; sister, Mildred Hunter and brother, Ike Bass.
