JOHNSON, Mother Nadinola “Nat-Nadine” - Age 90, of Flint, made her transition from her earthly home to her eternal rest, Sunday, December 6, 2009 surrounded by her family. Family hour 11AM Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Dozier Memorial CME Church, 3212 S. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Pastor Charles Braddock officiating. Entombment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Saturday. Mother Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Blvd., and may be viewed from 11AM-8PM Friday, with the family present from 5:30-8PM. Mother Nadinola “Nat-Nadine” Johnson was born July 19, 1919 in Mound Bayou, Mississippi, the daughter, of Mr. Lenzie Holmes and Ella Keys-Holmes. Mother Johnson was indeed a strong and hardworking individual. She was truly dedicated to living life to the fullest. The love and adoration she expressed and displayed to her family was without limits. Mother Johnson accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Dozier Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church until her illness prevented attendance at that location. She then began attending Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, until her illness prohibited attendance. Mother Johnson retired from McLaren Regional Medical Center after 28 years of service as a Supervisor of Nutrition Services. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Marva Dukes; special daughters, Pamela Kahee and Thelma Lewis; grandson, Alvin (Katrina) Hare, all of Flint; great-grandchildren, Jenaro, Jamel and Jalin Hare, Teril Cooper, Katysha Palmore, Pamela (Vincent) Small, Crystal Cockrane and Ciara Greer; great-great-grandsons, Jonavan Hare and Trysten Cooper; sisters, Beulah Holmes of Mound Bayou, MS, Geraldine Allmon of Antioch, TN and Claudine (Roosevelt) Stout; brother, William (Juanita) Holmes, all of Gary, IN; sister-in-law, Virginia Holmes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including the extended family within the Ryans, William, Kahee, Petty and Sprouls families. Mother Johnson was preceded in death by her son, Willie Kahee; parents; brothers, Paul and Moses Holmes; sisters, Josephine Peten and Marva Holmes; son-in-law, Willie Dukes; and former daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn Kahee. The family would like to express special thanks to Heartland Home and Hospice Care, Dozier Memorial CME Church, Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church and Greater Galilee Baptist Church families.
