Mrs. Myrtle Louise Moten

MOTEN, Mrs. Myrtle Louise - Age 72, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 11 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with Funeral Service commencing at 12 p.m. Rev. Lewis Randolph officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mrs. Moten will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015. Mrs. Myrtle Louise Moten was born January 10, 1943 in Luberton, South Carolina, the daughter of Vernon and Percie (Thompson) Rorie, Sr. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church since the age of 9. Myrtle was member of the Nurses Guild, Choir and served on the church’s Mission Team. She graduated from Flint Northern High School. Myrtle retired from AC Spark Plug, a division of Delphi and was a member of UAW Local #651. She also was a member of the Eastern Stars. Myrtle enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family, family outing, cooking and shopping. She also enjoyed church activities and visiting the sick and shut-in. Mrs. Myrtle Louise Moton leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Jacob Moten of Mt. Mrs. Moten was preceded in death by her son, Robert Rorie, Sr.; parents, Vernon and Percie Rorie, Sr.; brother, Daniel Rorie; aunt, Carrie Goss; uncle, Lalon (Isabel) Rorie; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Clark-Rorie; step-mother, Lucille Rorie; god-mother, Mary Tyler; grandparents.
