WALTON, Mother Flossie L. Cheatom "Gram" - Age 70, passed away Monday, July 18, 2005 at Avalon Hospice. Family hour 12Noon Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Joy Tabernacle the New Testament Church, 731 E. Hamilton Ave., with funeral service commencing at 1PM. Pastor R. Sherman McCathern officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12Noon Saturday. Mother Walton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mother Walton was born on July 13, 1935 in Tarry, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Tommie and Ada (Iverson) Cheatom. Mother Walton was a retired cook at the Masonic Temple dining room. She enjoyed cooking, attending church and spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of Joy Tabernacle the New Testament Church, where she served on the Mother's Board. Mother Flossie L. (Cheatom) Walton leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Carol (Kenny) Hargrave of Belleville, MI and Diane (Perrie) Gatson of Lima, OH; 2 sons, Alvin Cheatom of Flint, MI and Robert (Helen) Cheatom of Grand Blanc, MI; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Annie Mae Frazier of Pine Bluff, AR and Christine Hinton; 2 brothers, Odis (Dorothy) Cheatom, all of Flint, MI and Tommy (Thelma) Cheatom of Houston, TX; 2 sisters-in-law, Sarah Haygood of Detroit, MI and Robbie Joe Moulton of Manhattan, NY; brother-in-law, James (Elizabeth) McGraw of Detroit, MI; a host of other loving and caring relatives and friends. Mother Walton was preceded in death by her husband, Earlie J. Walton; sister, Joyce Cheatom; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce (Lillian) Cheatom; and 2 brothers-in-law. The family would like to express special thanks Pastor R. Sherman McCathern and the Joy Tabernacle the New Testament Church family; Overseer Bernadel Jefferson and the Faith Deliverance Center church family; and caregivers, Marilyn Taylor, Hermanetta Gant and Kimberly Osborne; Kith Haven; Avalon Hospice; Hurley ICU and 7W staff; Dr. Ariff and Dr. Atanga.
