LESLIE, Mother Annie P. - Age 93, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Avalon Hospice. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 2120 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Keith J. Bigelow, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mother Leslie will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1 p.m.- 8 p.m. Thursday. Mother Annie Pearl Leslie was born March 11, 1918 in Greenville, Georgia, the daughter of Min. Solomon and Martha Ann Mclaughlin. Annie Pearl accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Oak Ridge CME Church, where she served on the Mother’s Board until her move to Flint, Michigan in 2005. Annie Pearl was united in Holy Matrimony with Charlie Leslie. She was retired from Warm Spring Hospital in Warm Spring, GA. Annie Pearl was known for her bright beautiful smile, her famous homemade biscuits, fried apple pies and all the love she had for her family. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Elizabeth Coffer; 8 grandchildren, Willie Coffer, Michelle (Thaddeus) Conner, all of Flint, Kenneth (Lysandra) Hardaway of Decatur, GA, Pam Coffer of Flint, Derrick Hardaway of Decatur, GA, Mariea Coffer, Monquata Holt, both of Flint, Arthur (Melvena) Holt III of Atlanta, GA; 21 great-grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren; special nephew, J. C. Mclaughlin; 2 sons-in-law, Arthur Holt of Flint and Clifford Hardaway of Decatur, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. Mother Leslie was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Leslie; 2 daughters, Barbara Ann Holt and Charlie Kate Hardaway; parents, Solomon and Martha Ann Mclaughlin; 3 sisters, Irene, Mildred and Gertrude; 4 brothers, James, Wilson, Ezekiel and Gilbert; and son-in-law, Willie Coffer.
