Mother Henry

HENRY, Mother Elowese - Age 87, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at her residence. Family hour Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, G-5283 Clio Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon. Pastor K.D. Yarber, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00AM Tuesday. Mother Henry will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may viewed from 12Noon-8PM Monday. Mother Elowese Henry was born August 18, 1918 in Lisbon, Louisiana, the daughter of Gus and Nina Jones. Mother Henry resident in Flint and was a lifetime member of Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church. She attended school in Louisiana. Mother Henry was the widower of the late Pastor Emeritus Anvil Henry, Sr. She worked in numerous auxiliaries in the church and her hobbies were watching Soap Operas and tending to her flowers and plants. Mother Elowese Henry leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Velmateen Bridges, Diane Weary, both of Flint; 3 sons, Willies (Mozella) Henry of Mt. Morris, Anvil (Patricia) Henry, and Ralph (Vickie) Henry all of Flint; 2 step children, Earlie Bee Crockett of Louisville, MS and Elmore Franklin of Lisbon, LA; special grandchildren, Dawn M. Bolds, Eugene Roriex, Undra Henry, Curtis Henry, Charlisa Leslie, Kimberly Bryant, Jeffrey Henry, Willies Henry, Jr., Donyale Weary, Maurice Roriex, Charita Tweedy, LaRon Henry, Anvil Henry, III, Travis Henry, Courtney Henry, Karess Henry, Jacquetta Henry, Tony McGee, Raycheil McGann; brother, Walter (Marjorie) Jones of Flint; numerous nieces and nephews; 3 sisters-in-law, a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Pastor and Sis. K.D. Yarber, Mother Osie Anderson, Myrtis Browning, Ideila Fordham, Rev. and Sis. Samuel White, Rev. and Sis. Wilbert Campbell and Sis. Loretta Young. Mother Elowese Henry was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Anvil Henry, Sr.; 2 daughters, Portrie Mills and Eula Turner; son, Artis Henry; and grandson, Tyrone Roriex.
