Mr. Morris Leroy Tibbs

TIBBS, Mr. Morris Leroy - Age 83 , passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Kith Haven Nursing Home. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Five Fold Ministry Christian Center, 8041 N. McKinley Rd., Flushing, MI, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Juanita Crump officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St.. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Tibbs will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday. Mr. Morris Leroy Tibbs was born August 27, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late William Bill Jr. and Lillie Mae Tibbs. After completing high school he served in the United States Army, where he later fought in the Korean War. After receiving a rating of excellence and completing his duties he received a Honorable Discharge. Morris also worked as a Mortician in Columbus, OH. He was a member of Five Fold Ministry Christian Center. Morris loved fishing, cooking, telling jokes and just making you laugh. He took pride in caring for his animals and making sure they ate; especially his pet squirrel that he took care of as it was part of the family. Most of all he was a loving father, grandfather and friend whom everyone loved so much. Morris took pride in knowing that he was a provider and he would go over and beyond to make sure his family had the best of everything. Mr. Morris Leroy Tibbs leaves to cherish his memory: 7 daughters, Dorothy Bakos, Cyndola Tibbs, Lillian Tibbs, Shelia Lang, Arlinda Tibbs, all of Flint, Kathleen Tibbs and Althea Tibbs, both of Grand Blanc, MI; 3 sons, Thomas Tibbs, Sr., Charles Tibbs and Morris Tibbs, Jr., all of Flint; 35 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces including special nieces, Dr. Charlotte Hyajneh, Starla Seward, Dr. Tonya Tiller, all of Columbus, OH; a host of nephews, aunts, uncles including very special uncle, Vernon Reeves; a host of other relatives and friends including, Tamika Cox, Kaylor Adams, John Gray, Keon Stevens, Robert Woods, Nikki McDonald and family, James “Smitty” Smith, Vicky Lawler, Phillip “Butch” Kimble, Melvin McDowell, Alford Robertson and Renise Orr. Mr. Tibbs was preceded in death by his wife, Cyndola Mae Tibbs; parents, William Bill Jr. and Lillie Mae Tibbs; grandparents, Mamie Jean Reeves and William Bill Tibbs, Sr.; sister, Rev. Dorothy Roberts; brothers, Frederick and Thomas Tibbs; and uncle, John Roberts. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Dada and McLaren-Flint staff, Kith Haven Nursing Home and staff caregivers, DeAndre Dean and Audrey Adams, both for taking extra care of our father, Pastor Juanita Crump and the Five Fold Ministry Christian Center family for always being there and doing God’s work.
