HUNTER, Ms. Monecia - Age 27, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, July 17, 2023 at Spirit of Victory Outreach Ministries 3397 Windland Dr.., with funeral services commencing at 11:00 AM. Reverend Jernard Lakes, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Monday. Ms. Hunter will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 10:00AM-4:00PM Sunday. Ms. Monecia La’Tanzane Hunter was born December 31, 1995 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of India Hunter-Walker. She was the oldest of three children. Monecia attended Northridge, Linden Charter, Flint Northwestern High School and graduated from Flint Beecher High School “Class of 2014.” In 2021, Monecia’s greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother to Jasai Benton. She had a great appreciation of life and others. Monecia had a heart of gold, she was gentle and patient with those who needed help, had a listening ear or warm smile. She loved music, singing, dancing, skating and doing hair. Monecia also loved to travel. Ms. Monecia La’Tanzane Hunter leaves to cherish her memory: son, Jasai Daion Benton; mother, India Walker; step-father, Yakima Williams; grandmother, Nija TaMarr McKinnis; 10 sisters, Sateria Williams, Lakesha Conway, LaRishonia Conway, Kariona Ford, Alayshia Conway, Laylan Conway, Janiyah Garner, Jamiyah Gardner and Maraja Gardner; 7 brothers, DaQuavus Conway, Dalvin Keller, Deion Keller, Omarion Williams, Jamel Garner Jr., DeAvonne Conway and Devon Conway; 3 nieces, Samyra Keller, Jedah and Novah Conway; aunts, Tanyaknica Hunter, Georgia Williams, April Conway, Katrice Brown and Angel Conway; uncles, Vincent Garner, Leroy Conway and Howard Garner III; a host of other aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends. Ms. Hunter was preceded in death by, Frank Hunter, Howard Garner Sr., Howard Garner Jr., Janice Graham, Josie Thomas, Ebony Thomas and Kanasha Thomas.
