BOOTH, Ms. Monalisa - Age 45, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Church Without Walls, 6202 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor Derrick Aldridge officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday. Ms. Booth will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2PM-8PM Friday. Ms. Monalisa Yuvette “Vette” Booth was born May 4, 1963 in Marvell, Arkansas, the daughter of Jerry and Columbus Booth. Monalisa accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Usher Board, Choir and assistant pianist for many years. She graduated from Northwestern High School “Class of 1981.” Monalisa received her Cosmetology License in 1993 and was always eager and happy to make everyone’s style as “on point” as her own. She leaves to cherish her memory: loving and dedicated companion of 18 years, Maurice Dantzler of Flint; 2 daughters, Dralecea Janae Patterson (father of daughter, Darrin Patterson), and Destiny Louella Dantzler; son, Darrell Maurice Dantzler; parents, Jerry and Columbus Booth; grandfather, Sonny Booth; 4 sisters, Janet (Duncan) Hamiton, Joyce, Juan (Carlene) Booth, special sister, Stephanie Booth; 3 brothers, Raheem Abdul Shabazz, Tyrone (Tiffany) and Jerielle (Deneika) Booth, all of Flint; several nieces and nephews; 10 aunts, Clara (Johnny) Spiller, Veria (Charley) Pitts, Jerdine Snell, special aunt, Loretta Young, Gloria Hanson, and Ernestine Walker, all of Flint, Lillie Johnson of Missouri, Mildred (Fred) Thomas of Oklahoma, Theresa (Jimmy) Sanders of California, Myrtis (Walter) Calhoun of Flint; 5 uncles, Calvin (Bessie) Simpkins of Chicago, IL, Joe, John and Floyd Simpkins, all of Flint, Odell (Mary Ann) Booth of Arkansas; special cousins, Donna Atkins of Miami, FL, Gwen Simpkins of Bakersfield, CA, Dy’Menn Princess and Baby Darquan, all of Flint; 2 god children, Corey Neyland and Erica Hall; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Dawn Bolds of Flint. Ms. Booth was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wesley and Louella Simpkins and Jessie Mae Booth; 2 sisters, Joann and Marcella Booth; 2 aunts, Shirley Ann Carter and Emma Jean Simpkins; and uncle, Charles Simpkins.
