JONES, Mrs. Minnie Lee (Strozier) - Age 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Genesys Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor Lewis Randolph officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday. Mrs. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1-4PM Friday. Mrs. Minnie Lee (Strozier) Jones was born August 1, 1922 in Odessa, Georgia, the third child of RD and Luella (Maze) Strozier. Minnie was a 1939 graduate of Flint Northern High School. She held various occupations throughout her lifetime, including an assembly line worker at the local General Motors Chrevolet plant and a housekeeper at the former Durant Hotel. She was a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Minnie always took the time to let someone know that she was thinking about them. Mrs. Minnie Jones leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Darlene Jones; son, Lawrence Jones; daughters-in-law, Brenda Buckner-Jones and Shirley Jones; sister, Frances (Strozier) Jefferson; brother, Robert D. Strozier; sister-in-law, Bessie Strozier; grandchildren, Mrs. Marie Antoinette (Anthony) Jones-Watts, Dominque Jones, LaToi Jones, Cameron Jones, Chelonda Jones and Miyako Jones; great grandchildren, T’Kal Clay, DaiJ’a Dunigan, Q’Yara Jones and LaRon West; nephews, Larry (Josephine) Strozier, Gary Wood, Charles (Rhoda) H. Strozier and Henry (Denise) D. Strozier; nieces, Valerie (James) Godwin, Karen Strozier, Cynthia (David) Sanders, Pamela (William) Stewart and Lois Jefferson; many great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends including, special friends, Ms. Doris Williams, Blake Strozier, Mrs. Cleo Burton and Mrs. Ernestine Herbert. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her son, Rev. Bee A. Jones; parents, RD and Luella Strozier; sisters, Lillian Strozier, Lelar (Joe) Strozier-Hooper and Gladys Strozier; brothers, Henry Howard Strozier and Charlie Strozier; nephew, Edward Jefferson; and brother-in-law, Luke Jefferson. The Jones family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Abdul Razzak and his office staff, the staff at Genesys Regional Medical Center for their special care, Pastor Lewis Randolph and the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church family for their years of support and service.
