Mrs. Minnie Lue Hart

HART, Mrs. Minnie - Age 81, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Alfred Harris Sr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Hart will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Mrs. Minnie Lue Hart was born on April 16, 1943 in Crawford, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Calvin, Sr. and Morine Stewart. Minnie was the second oldest of 13 children and she confessed her hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Fairview Baptist Church in Crawford, Mississippi. Minnie was a product of the Loundes County School System and was a graduate of Moor High School in 1962. It was at Moor High where Minnie met the love of her life, Jerry Hart. In 1965, they were united in holy matrimony and in 1966, they moved to Flint, Michigan where Minnie was employed by Valley Linen Cleaners. A few years later she began working at McLaren General Hospital in the Laundry Department. In 1979, Minnie was hired at A.C. Spark Plug Division of General Motors as a production worker and retired in 1996. Minnie united with the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in 1966 and was a very active and faithful member where she attended Sunday School, served on Usher Board #2 and was Chairperson of the Kitchen Committee until her health no longer permitted. Minnie was a phenomenal cook and was known for her delicious cornbread dressing, macaroni & cheese and her scrumptious desserts. She really enjoyed cooking and baking and often times catered food for various events here in the county. Minnie also enjoyed gardening, sewing and selling Mary Kay Cosmetics. She loved being around family and friends and she especially loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had developed a special bond with her first great-grandson Kyair, who is now deceased. Mrs. Minnie L. Hart leaves to cherish her memory: devoted husband of 59 years, Jerry Hart; daughter, Ketchia Hart of Flint, MI; stepsons, Jeff (Rhonda) Grayer of Flushing, MI and Jerry Gray of Crawford, MS; 2 granddaughters, Keyona Hart and Keyaira Hart of Flint, MI; 3 great grandchildren, Kyrnn Hart, Kyanna Hart and Kyliah Price all of Flint, MI; 5 sisters, Lena Armstrong of Flint, MI; Katherine Johnson of Steen, MS; Margaret (Vinson) Lever of Grand Blanc, MI; Delorise (Eddie) Fair of Flint Township, MI; Denise Stewart of Macon, MS; 5 brothers, Calvin (Carolyn) Stewart of Jackson, MS; Leon Stewart, Willie (Mary) Stewart, Peter Stewart all of Columbus, MS and Glenn (Aretta) Stewart of Flint, MI; 3 sisters-in-law, Florean Coleman and Shirley Hart both of Flint and Christine (Walter) Bridges of Crawford, MS; 5 brothers-in-law, Sylvester Hart and Emmitt (Tina) Hart of Crawford, MS; Charlie Hart of Flint, MI; Jeffrey Hart of Sydney, Australia and Willie Brown of Flint, MI; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends survive including her special friends, Ella Bransford and Bernice Stewart. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin, Sr. and Morine Stewart; father and mother-in-law, Tommie James and Thelma Hart; sisters, Bettie Brown and Annie Spann; great grandson, Kyair Hart; special friends, Venita Campbell, Creola Ivy and Sadie Harris
