CALDWELL, Mrs. Minnie Lee - Age 94, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 1258 E. Humphrey St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Terry Randolph, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday, June 3, 2023. Mrs. Caldwell will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Public viewing will be during family hour only. Mrs. Caldwell's funeral services will be live-streamed at: https://youtube.com/@mcpbroadcast. Mrs. Minnie Caldwell was born July 8, 1928 in Humphrey, AK to the late James Roy Scribner and Julie Magnolia Smith. She was the oldest of 6. She graduated from Rosenwald High School and went on to peruse some college courses in Pine Bluff Arkansas. Mrs. Caldwell went on to marry the love of her life in 1944. They begin their family of 9 in a little town of Humphrey, AK. They relocated the family to MI where she began her career as a master of all trades upon her retirement as a material handler at the Consolidated Box Factory. Throughout her time on earth, she loved to cook, going to church, crossword puzzles, getting her hair done, watching her soaps, the piano and most of all spending time with her family which brought her so much joy. She was also known for helping the less fortunate and pouring into others. Mrs. Minnie Caldwell leaves to cherish her memory: 4 daughters, Magnolia Logan of Grand Blanc, MI, Linda Hairston of Flint, MI, Toni Johnson of Farmington Hills, MI, and Minnie (Jeffrey) Bonner of Southfield, MI; 4 sons, Napoleon (Ruperta) Caldwell of Las Vegas, NV, Joe (Lorraine) Caldwell and Walter Caldwell, all from Flint, MI., 2 sisters-in-law, Gloria Colen of Flint, MI and Jean Colen of Texas; 2 daughters-in-law, Dennie Caldwell of Grand Blanc, MI and Francine Caldwell of Flint Township, MI; 40 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, many, many other relatives and friends including special friends, Kay, May Chapman, Vivian Miller and Linda Brooks. Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by the love of her life of 73 ½ years, Clarence Caldwell Sr.; by her parents, James Roy Scribner and Julie Magnolia Smith; step-mother, Rose Marie Scribner; sons, Clarence Caldwell Jr. and James Roy Caldwell; sisters, Lorene Johnson, and May Colen; brothers, James Colen Jr., Morgan Colen and Clyde (Garland) Colen; and 4 grandchildren
