MARSHALL, Mrs. Mildred - Age 80, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Kith Haven Nursing Home. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 5443 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Sr., officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday. Mrs. Marshall will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mother Mildred Marshall was born January 28, 1927 in Monticello, Mississippi, the daughter of John and Etta (Robinson) Evans. Mother Marshall was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church until her illness. She served on the Mother's Board and choir. She was a former member of Harris Temple C.O.G.I.C. where she served as District Missionary and Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed by A.C. Spark Plugs and Montgomery Wards. Mother Marshall was a strong supporter of former Mayors, Floyd McCree, Coleman Young and James Sharp during their tenure. Mother Mildred Marshall leaves in God's care: 5 daughters, Linda (Bernard) Boose of Flint, Marsha (George) Hill of Grand Blanc, MI, Joanne (William) Odom of Ypsilanti, MI, Freda Turner and Sharon Marshall; 2 sons, Douglas Marshall of Ponce, Puerto Rico and Fred Marshall of Flint; 14 loving grandchildren, Jarmar, Lashona, Tawana, Tonre and Natasha Lyle, Ondria, Shametres, Sharnae, Shardae, Shakeira, Tanasha, Ramecha, Shatoya and Jaeontre; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Alice (Edward) Russell of Paw Paw, MI, Knora Russell of Flint and Doris Turner of Wadley, GA; brothers, Eddie Evans of Flint and Rev. Oscar (Maxine) Evans of California; aunt, Ossie Martin of Tusan, AZ; sister-in-law, Isabelle Evans of Chicago, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including the Turner family. Mother Marshall was preceded in death by her, husband, Deacon Edward Marshall; daughters, Martha, Mary and Debra Joy; granddaughter, Kristal; parents, Etta and John Evans; sisters-in-law, Betty and Mary Evans. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor and Mrs. Alfred L. Harris, Sr. and Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church family, Bishop and Mrs. Odis A.
