CARLYSLE, Mrs. Mildred - Age 95, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Vermont Christian Church, 1201 Lippincott Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor DeVontae Powell, officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Carlysle will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be vMrs. Mildred Carlysle - Age 95, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at her residence. Mildred Benzinia Carlysle was born July 3, 1928, in Columbia, SC. The daughter of Rev. Rufus Moses and AnnieScott. While in Columbia, SC before moving to Flint, MI in 1948, Mildred graduated from Benedict College in Columbia, SC, she was also a faithful member of Happy Home Baptist Church where she was also a member of the choir in college and church. As she moved to Flint, MI, Mildred worked many small jobs until she became full-timewith Ternstedt GM Parts Plant. Mildred had a love for music and became a faithful member of Vermont Christian Church D.O.C. in 1952. There she joined the choir as she sang every Sunday giving God all the praise. Mildred was an ordained Deacon. She alsoloved to volunteer her time at nursing homes, hospitals, schools, and served food to the elderly. Mildred then obtained a position with the Flint Board of Education. She retired from both Ternstedt GM Parts Plant, and Flint Board of Education. Mildred had a love for her family like no other. She enjoyed having a house full of her grandsons. Mildred held close to her heart, her sons, and grandsons.On her downtime, Mildred loved to walk, she joined a walking club. She enjoyed gardening, baking & cooking, and talking on the phone to her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling. She leaves to cherish her memory: 6 sons and 1 daughter: Dorothy McIntyre of DC. William (Barb) Jones, Anthony Jones, James Jones, Bruce (Roseann) Jones, Alvin (Sandra) Jones Sr. All of Flint, MI. Alvin (Rana) Jones Jr. of Houston TX. Stepchildren: Carl Carlysle of HI, Tracy Carlysle of Flint, MI, Tony Carlysle of FL. A host of grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews, with special nieces, Sandra Dillon, Debra Green, Diane Brown all of Detroit,MI., Rita Counts of MD, and Carolyn Ayers of PA. A host of other family and friends: Cousin Viola Patterson of SC., Bennie Willis, Joann Courts, LeDora Oglesby, Ann Mills, Roxianna Moore, Elaine Lee, Armina Stewart. Preceded in death by Parents: Rufus and Annie Scott, Husband: Samuel Carlysle, Sisters: Justeen Brown, Louise Draft, Helen Brown. Brothers: Herman Scott, Lang Peterson. Grandson: Andre Jones, Son-In-Law: Ronald McIntyre Sr.iewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends.
