Mr. Mike Delano Carruth

CARRUTH, Mr. Mike Delano - Age 74, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 at his residence. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle, 930 E. Myrtle Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Pastor Daniel Moore, officiating Rev. Dr. Herbert Miller II., Host Pastor. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Carruth will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Mr. Mike Delano Carruth “Dale” was born May 3, 1945 in Marianna, Arkansas the son of Mike and Esther Lee Carruth. Mike lived in Flint, Michigan for many years and was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He was Self Employed and was the Owner and Operator of Rich’s Auto Salvage in Saginaw, MI for 28 years. He loved working on cars, tending his garden and spending quality time with his grandkids. Mr. Carruth leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 43 years, Bobbie Nell Carruth; son, Jermel (Arletha) Carruth of Flushing, MI; grandchildren, Jermela Carruth and Jamal Carruth, both of Flushing, MI; 4 sisters, Bettina (Clarence) Campbell of Southhaven, MS, Verna Jean McMillon, Lee Crystal Streeter both of Detroit, MI and Delores Blakely of Flint; 3 brothers, Wilbert (Alice) Carruth of Detroit, MI, Gibson (Janet) Petties and Horton Petties both of Mt. Vernon, IL; several nieces; several nephews; several cousins; sisters-in law, Pearlean (Pastor John) Evans, Charlotte (Robert) Bradford, Tina Pace, all of Forest, MS and Helen (James) Gray of Newton, MS; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Walter Townsend and Joe Hampton; special uncle, Harry Carruth, special aunt, Ora Carruth, special nephew, Douglas Harper; and god-daughter, Taylor Neeley. “Dale” was preceded in death by: parents, Mike and Esther Carruth; brothers, A.P. Petties, Andrew Carruth, Leodis Carruth, Lovelace Grays, Derry Grays and Arney Robinson; and uncles, Odie and Lev Carruth. The family would like to express special thanks to Heartland Hospice, Dr. J. A. Kreitzberg, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church family, Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle and his in home caregivers.
