FRANKLIN, Ms. Michelle - Age 51, went home to be with the Lord, went family and friends by her side, Monday, November 15, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2 p.m., Rev. Eric Marks officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Ms. Franklin will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed 12Noon- 8 p.m. Monday. Ms. Michelle Franklin was born December 5, 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia to William J. Franklin and the late Mattie Scott-Franklin. Michelle lived most of her life in Flint and attended Flint Public Schools. She worked various jobs. Michelle enjoyed cooking, music, shopping and most of all being with her grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Trishelle and JaQuana Dye; 4 sons, John Dye, Jr., Cavasseaire and Martell Dykes and Larry Hilliard, all of Flint; 11 grandchildren, Lodrice, Derionna, Qy’jaLian, De’Quavies, Tamaria, Aareonna, Najana’e. Terriona, Ty’Asiah, Sammy and Jayden; father, William J. (Judy) Franklin; 2 sisters, Laurie Franklin of Flint and Kalita (Jamal) Kendrick of Detroit, MI; 6 brothers, Brian (Jennifer) Flakes, Darnell (Sheila) Marks, Colin Franklin of Flint, Jonathan Flakes of Chicago, IL, Cedric (Lisa) Marks of Marcopa, AZ and Micah Franklin of Chase, MI; a host of nieces; a host of nephews; a host of aunts including, Bernetta Pinson, Elaine Gilbert and Evelyn Marks; a host of uncles including, Curtis (Mary) Franklin, Jerry Franklin, Skippy Ward and Albert Franklin; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special family, Johnnie and Tina Dye, Brandon, Rashawnda, Andre’, Mario, Maria, Markita and Marcus Dye, Samella Moore, Rodney Reed, Rosie Weatherspoon, Micheal Westbrook and Larry Hilliard, Sr. Ms. Franklin was preceded in death by her daughter, Shon’Drica Hillard; grandson, Ja’Quan Westbrook; mother, Mattie Flakes; grandmothers, Mildrew Ward and Catherine Franklin; uncle, Phillip Ward; and godson, Marcellus Dye. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center, Amie, Cathy and all the 4th Floor CCU nurses, Davita-Flint (Old RDC), Tamika Cordell, Dr. Arif, Jameka Johnson and Alma Knight.
