HOLMES, Mr. Michael - Age 48, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Wednesday, May 30, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Dr. Cullian Hill Presiding, Rev. Aaron Hill officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Wednesday. Mr. Holmes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Tuesday. Mr. Michael Dwayne Holmes started his life August 31, 1958 in Flint, Michigan, born to Ernestine Holmes and Kenneth Oliver. Michael graduated from Northern High School "Class of 1976", and attended Western Michigan University. Michael was previously employed at Camtron/MeteKote Coating of Lapeer. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, and he loved basketball, and was an avid fan of his daughter, Nicole. He also loved hanging out in his garage watching the games with his garage buddies. Michael was loved and cherished by: wife, Valerie; daughters, Cherese and Nicole; son, Michael Jr.; mother, Ernestine Holmes; father, Kenneth Oliver; grandmother, Alyce Oliver; sisters, Kymberly Oliver, Simone Polk and Wendy Wiggins of Phoenix, AZ; brothers, Darryl L. (Joy) Holmes, Greg (Annette) Oliver; mother-in-law, Mignon (Tommy) Obleton, Columbus, GA; father-in-law, Sampson (Margaret) Williams of Grand Blanc; sisters-in-law, Marquise Anderson and Tanya Jones; brother-in-law, Jeffery Williams; aunts, Sandra (Willie) Demps, Bernadine Walker, Hazel (Billy) Bradshaw of Grand Blanc; uncles, Jerome (Adriene) Oliver, Bernard (Virginia) Holmes of Mt. Morris; Dr. Cullian Hill of Detroit; great-aunts, Jerline Grayson of Pine Bluff, AR, Katherine Sheppard of Detroit, Mary (Charlie) McGhee of Grand Blanc; great-uncle, Orea (Emma) Taylor; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special nephew, Dariel Anderson, IV; special friends, Marcell Nance and his "garage buddies".
