Mr. Michael Dean

DEAN, Mr. Michael - Age 69, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Emery St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, July 23, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with a Memorial Service commencing at 11:00 AM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Friday. Mr. Michael Dean was born May 19, 1952 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Fletcher and Alice (Smith) Dean. Michael was a resident of Flint until June of 2000 when he moved to Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Mott Community College earning an Associate Degree in Broadcasting. Michael was employed at Arby’s World Headquarters as Security until his passing. He was a member of Omega Holiness Church and he loved the Lord. His interests were learning history and discussing politics. Michael was a quiet man, but was very passionate about those he loved. Mr. Michael Dean leaves to cherish his memory: life partner and companion, Shirley Barnett of Sandy Springs, GA; 4 daughters, Octavia Cook, Deirdre Cook, Nakia Clark, all of Flint and Angelique Longmire of Conyers, GA; son, Michael Moore; 11 grandchildren, Laquisha Cook, Deneika J. Booth, Bentavia Jackson, America Jackson, Marica Griffin, Teonia Ross, Lonyell Walker, all of Flint, Andre (Jaz’mine) Longmire II of Las Vegas, NV, Andrena Longmire (Armonte Ringo) of Covington, GA, Malkolm and Myles Moore of Michigan; 10 great-grandchildren, Justus Cochran, Kamaria Johnson, Travis Mitchell, R. Jerrell, Journee Booth, Jream Booth, Terrance Cureton, Tristan Cureton, Tylan Cureton and Jaleah Booth; 2 sisters, Betty Smith of Flint and Rebecca Carter of Bridgeport, MI; 5 nieces including special nieces, Tara (Richard) Taylor, Allison Wright and Ameshia Calloway (great-niece); 9 nephews including special nephews, Stacy Johnson and Jeffrey Halloway; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Lorry Jensen and Eugene Gholiston. Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Alice Dean; sisters, Mattie Miller and Rosemary Williams; brothers, Fletcher Dean Jr. and Emerson Dean; nephew, Greg Sanders. The family would like to express special thanks to Lorry Jensen, Eugene Gholiston and the entire Arby’s family of Sandy Springs, GA.
