McREYNOLDS, Mr. Fairley "Mack" - Age 84, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, at LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, October 21, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Allen C. Overton Sr., officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Monday. Mr. Fairley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sunday. We remember McReynolds “Mack” Fairley, whose spirit departed from us on October 13, 2024 at the age of 84. Mack, a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Mack was born in Camden, Alabama on June 29th, 1940. He and his family moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1951. Mack then decided to join the United States Army where he served for 2 years. After being Honorably Discharged in 1965, he decided to move to Flint, Michigan where he started his career at General Motors. He retired from General Motors "Chevy in the hole" in 2004. Everyone that knew Mack knew that he was a businessman and he was well known around Flint. Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ollie Fairley; 2 sisters, Juliette (Fairley) Deadwyler and Ernestine Fairley; along with 6 brothers, Cornice Fairley, Tommy Clark Fairley, Douglas Jacob Fairley, Herbert Marshall Fairley, and Fred Henry Fairley; cousin, Twinet Jenkins. McReynolds “Mack” Fairley leaves behind to cherish his memory: loving daughter, Michelle Lee Fairley; 2 grandsons whom he talked about all the time, Greg Cleveland Jr and Cameron Washington; his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Rosetta) Fairley of New Jersey; sister-in-law, Vera Fairley; special niece, Gail Deadwyler of Cleveland, OH; special nephew, Richard Allen Fairley of New Jersey; Mr. Fairley also had 10 nieces and 4 nephews. I would like to also include his good friends Curtis Johnson, Bruce Blackburn, Sharon Cosey, Pearl, JT and many many others. The family would like to thank Dr. Elmahdi Saeed, the nurses and staff at Hurley Medical Center and Lavigne Home for Compassionate Care.
