Mr. Maurice Scott

SCOTT, Mr. Maurice - Age 66, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at McFarlan Village. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, August 30, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Allen C. Overton Sr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Scott will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Maurice Scott was born July 11, 1959 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Pearline Scott and Samuel Cabine. Maurice graduated from Southwestern High School in 1977 and attended Michigan State University. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved taking his niece, nephew and other children to the beach and bike riding. He was both a father figure and a role model. Maurice loved music and photography. He maintained a well-organized and extensive catalog of both his music and his photographs. Maurice was the King of QVC, if there was a new gadget to try, he tried it, especially if it involved some innovative technology. Listen close and you can still hear him saying “Hey Google”. A host of cousins and other relatives along with special friends, Veronica Harris and family. Maurice was preceded in death by his grandparents, five uncles, three aunts, a brother Earnest Scott and a nephew Yahel Scott. Special thank you to his niece, Tabita Collins and friend, Jeffery Anderson for their loving care throughout his illness.
