Mr. Mason "Snooty" Miller

MILLER, Mr. Mason - Age 67, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, April 25, 2020 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Allen C. Overton Sr., officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Saturday. Mr. Miller will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Mr. Mason “Snooty” Miller was born March 4, 1953 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Mason and Bertha Hicks. “Snooty” graduated from Flint Central High School, “Class of 1973.” He was employed at Flint Truck & Bus, a division of General Motors Corporation where he was responsible for many different jobs for 35 years. “Snooty” and Maurice Cox were the very proud founders of the “Soul Purpose Community Social Club” on North Saginaw Street where he held the Presidential Position from August 1, 2007 – March 7, 2011. The purpose of the club was to offer a drug & alcohol- free environment for people who were recovering from addiction; there 105 dues paying members attending. “Snooty” enjoyed dancing, sports, playing cards, Dominos and socializing with friends. Although, his first love was to dress and smell good. Mr. Mason “Snooty” Miller leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Shaumtell Latrice Clark; son, Mason Mazzio Miller III; 5 grandchildren, Danielle Latrice Gray, Donnell Main Skinner, Elijah Amire Clark, Mazzio Masiah Wright and Mason Mazzio Miller IV; 2 great-grandchildren, Deavion Clark and Daylin Skinner; 3 sisters, Mary Armstrong, Tina Gary, both of Atlanta, GA and Joyce Jamerson of St. Petersburg, FL; aunt, Lucille (Jessie) Briggs; 9 nieces; 9 nephews including special nephew, Tyreese Peterson; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Mack Brooks and James Green. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Mason and Bertha Hicks; brother, Freddie “Butch” Miller; and step-father, Amos Miller. The family would like to express special thanks to Tommy Lee Clark, Albert & Nathania (sister) McGaughy, Joanna Powell and Sonya Grayer, both of McLaren-Flint, Karen from Hospice, McLaren-Flint and Hurley Medical Center doctors and nurses, Regency and Willowbrook Manor Rehab Facilities, special niece, Raylanda LeGardye and to all those who showed love in all kinds of ways.
