WILSON, Mrs. Mary Frances - Age 76, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 424 Kennelworth St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Major A. Stewart, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Wilson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Mary Frances Wilson was born July 19, 1935 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis and Louise Jackson. Frances attended Clark Elementary and Whittier Jr. High, graduating from Flint Central High School, “Class of 1953.” She also graduated from Mott Community College with High Honors in 1990. Desiring to further her education, Frances enrolled at the University of Michigan-Flint where she majored in Spanish and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree also with Honors. In an effort to master the language, Frances also studied in Spain and Mexico. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Frances retired from Consumers Energy after 21 years of service. She was member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. She served on the Title I Citywide Advisory Council for many years holding the offices of Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Parliamentarian. Frances also worked as a Substitute Teacher for the Flint Community Schools. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, music and family gatherings. Mrs. Mary Frances Wilson leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Paula Jackson; son, Rev. Ronald Wilson; 6 grandchildren, Jody Jackson, Keiana Duncan, Ronald Wilson III, Tyler, Kaitlyn and Evan Wilson, all of Flint; 11 great grandchildren, Krishaun Duncan, whom she raised, Deltino, Nikoyah, Alerio, Poitier, KeyDreece, KorVeah, Jaela, Madison, Jalesia and Jody Jr.; mother, Louise Jackson; 6 sisters, Lillian Houston, Margaret Jackson, Maxine Tornes, Dorothy Payton, Betty (William) Tipper, Sharon (Vernon) Payne; brother, Henry Jackson of Athens, GA; sister-in-law, Ella L. Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends, Betty Harvey and Wilma Watts. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her father, Willis Jackson, Sr.; grandmother, Mary Morgan; brothers, Willis Jackson, Jr. and Thomas Jackson; and sister-in-law, Sarah Jackson.
