WATSON, Ms. Mary Lena' - Age 36, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Zion, Illinois. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, October 19, 2018 at Greater Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C., 6702 N. Dort Hwy., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Bishop Roger L. Jones Sr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, 9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Watson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday. Mary Lená Watson, daughter of Margaret Sharon Wesley and Rondel Eugene Watson was born on November 1, 1981 in Flint, Michigan. She was a graduate of Southwestern High School. She received her Associates Degree from Mott Community College. She continued her formal education at the University of Michigan Flint receiving a Bachelors in Business Administration. Mary also graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northwood University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Communications. Mary enjoyed singing, dancing and had a gift and talent for writing and producing music. She never let life challenges get in her way of enjoying life and pursuing her dreams. Mary passed her LSAT and her goal was to become a lawyer and help the residents of Flint, Michigan. Mary accepted Christ at a very early age. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin. She always made sure to call, text or send cards to friends and family on birthdays or other special occasions. Mary was a cancer patient for thirty-five years never looking back, complaining, blaming or whining. She always looked forward to achieving more in life no matter what trials she had to go through. Mary leaves to cherish her memory: parents, Margaret Sharon Wesley and Rondel Eugene Watson; sister, Jeanna Wesley; two nieces, Sjlanté “Shay” Morris and Derrika “Rika” Clements; god-parents, Yvonne Guy and Walter Guy; extended family, the Drummers of Bronx, NY; aunts, uncles and many, many dear friends that were so close to her heart. Mary was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Mother Ruth Wesley and Mother Mary Lee Watson; grandfathers, Selma Wesley and Elder Malvern Watson; 2 aunts, 4 uncles and cousins.
