Mrs. Mary Warren

WARREN, Mrs. Mary - age 88, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at her residence. Family hour 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Ebenezer Ministries, 2130 S. Center Rd., Burton, MI. with memorial service commencing at 1 p.m. Bishop Urundi Knox, Host Pastor. Family and friends will assemble at the church 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Warren may be viewed during the family hour only. Mary Warren was born October 5, 1926 in Shelby, Mississippi the daughter of James Kennebrew and Edna Campbell. Mary was a resident of Chicago, IL for 60 years. She was employed by the State of Illinois for 30 years, where she was dedicated to the vulnerable population of Chicago. Mary was very active in her church and community. She would cook meals so all the children in her neighborhood had a home cooked meal. Mary was loved by many especially her sisters, whom she would spend hours laughing and talking on the phone with them. She was affection ally called “Duke” she remained active in the betterment of her neighborhood and community until her health failed in 2005. Mrs. Mary Warren leaves to cherish her memory: son, Willie T. Warren Jr.; grandchild, Teresa Warren; great grandchildren, Destiny and Terrell Jackson all of Memphis, TN; 3 sisters, Maggie Mason of Chicago, IL, Queenie B. Carson of St. Louis, MO and Taigner “Tiny” McDougal of Flint, MI; 2 brothers, Mantro Mitchell Sr. of Chicago, IL and Rev. Sylvester Rice of West Warwick, RI; a host of nieces and nephews including special nieces, DaShika Finley, Letisha Thrower, Jerrika McDougal , Alanna LeMay all of Flint, MI and Margaret Williams of St. Louis, MO; special nephews, Anthony Williams, Orlandus Williams and Quartez Carson all of St. Louis, MO, Sherman Campbell of Jackson, MI, Mantro Mitchell Jr. of Chicago, IL and Roderic Campbell of Flint, MI; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, George DaHart of Chicago, IL. Mrs. Warren was preceded in death by parents, James Kennebrew and Edna Campbell; sisters, Bertha Hogan and Mary Louise Williams; brothers, John “CB” and Roosevelt Claybourne; special niece, Vanessa Williams; nephew, Toney Rice.
