Tate, Ms. Mary Charlene - Age 49, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at U of M Hospital-Ann Arbor, MI. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, July 20, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Saturday. Ms. Tate will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Ms. Mary Charlene “Mese” Tate was born December 21, 1969 in Atmore, Alabama, the daughter of Minnie Tate Frye and Jessie Wright. “Mese” enjoyed watching sports, crime shows and yelling at her favorite team, the New England Patriots. She also enjoyed cookouts with her family, playing cards and spending time with her grandkids. “Mese” love to flaunt her beautiful smile. “Mese” also loved to yell at her fiancé, James and call him a no neck bastard. She was loving and caring and if she could help she would. “Mese” will truly be missed. Ms. Mary Charlene “Mese” Tate leaves to cherish her memory: fiancé, James Mitchell; 3 daughters, Anquanetta Baker, Al’kisha Tate and Quennie Tate, all of Flint; 2 sons, Markell (Melissa) Tate of Durand, MI and Elray Baker III of Flint; grandchildren, Alexxis Stiers, Markell Tate II, both of Durand, MI, Detavious Baker of Montrose, MI, Heaven Washington of Flint, Na’Kia Tate, Jayla Tate, both of Durand, MI, Jaylyn Baker of Flint, Braylen Tate of Saginaw, MI and A’Launi Tate of Flint; parents, Minnie Tate Frye and Jessie Wright; 2 sisters, Annie Lisa Frye and Twania Frye, both of Alabama; 6 brothers, Alfred Tate, Calvin (Dawana) Frye, Ernest Frye, Orlando Frye, Richard Young Jr. and Johnny Young, all of Flint; a host of nieces and nephews; uncle, Julian Dawson; 6 cousins, Danny Tate of Flint, Larenza Tate of Texas, Patrick Tate of Minnesota, Nina Tate of Flint, Ayesha Tate of Minnesota and Julian Tate of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Denise Fisher and Lisa Meeks. Ms. Tate was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Queenie Elizabeth Tate; aunt, Betty Jean Tate; uncles, Charles Tate II and Patrick Tate.
