Mary McFadden

McFADDEN, Mrs. Mary - Age 80, went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2011 surrounded by her family in her home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Dozier Memorial CME Church, 3212 South Saginaw Street, the Rev. Reynard L. Monmouth, Pastor, with family and friends assembling at the church at 11:00AM for family ½ hour and funeral services starting promptly at 11:30AM. The Rev. William H. Bell, Jr., Pastor of Saint Peter CME Church, Officiating Official will also bring the Eulogy. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Mrs. McFadden will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 12-8PM. Mrs. Mary McFadden was born January 13, 1931 in Hope, Arkansas, to the union of Mose and Nettie (Davis) Reynolds. In 1951, she married Melvin McFadden. Six children were born to this union. Upon moving to Flint, Michigan she joined Dozier Memorial CME Church. There she remained a dedicated woman of God serving as Senior Choir President, as a Missionary and as a Stewardess, until her health began to fail. Mary Lee was devoted to her family, first a loving and faithful wife of 53 years to Melvin McFadden, her husband who preceded her in death, and truly as a loving, compassionate and benevolent stay-at-home mother to her children. Mrs. Mary McFadden leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, MiAsia Pasha of Phoenix, AZ, Geraldine (Joseph) Langston and Rosie McFadden (Caregiver); 2 sons, Kelvin (Sonia) and Vincent (Kim) McFadden, all of Flint; 17 grandchildren, Isis and Kenyatta Turner, JoAnna Langston of Phoenix, AZ, Katina, Monica, Roshanda and Joseph Langston, Jr., Rubyo (Maria), Mario and Shawn Dixon, Monique Green, William Stewart, and Ashley Wilson, Raymond, Alisha, Erica and Terica McFadden, all of Flint, MI; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law, Occie Credit, Dr. Jessie (Charles) Muldrew, all of Flint, Nina (J.W.) Miller of Grand Blanc, MI, and Eria L. Hopson of Hope, AR; 2 brothers-in-law, Joseph (Charity) McFadden and William (Geraldine) McFadden; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. McFadden was preceded in death by her son, Melvin Jr.; parents, Mose and Nettie Davis; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; special niece, Queen Ester Mason; special brother-in-law, Adother Muldrew.
