HUTSON, Pastor Mary S. - age 86, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at her residence. Family hour 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at Royal Priesthood Ministries, 2518 Delaware Ave. with funeral service commencing at 12 p.m. Pastor Harold Britton Host Pastor, Dr. Clarence Courts, Sr. officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, 5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 11 a.m. Friday. Pastor Hutson may be viewed Friday at the church only. Pastor Mary Selester “Gran” Hutson was born January 15, 1928 in Newton County, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Rev. George and Martha Tolbert. She was resident of Flint, Michigan for many years. She was founder of Christ Combination Mission Church with her late husband Rev. Pleas Hutson. Pastor Hutson was a member of the Council of Churches. She loved the Lord, and it showed by the way she lived her life. Pastor Hutson loved helping people from all walks of life and showing them the way to be a soldier for the Lord. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was full of wisdom and if you wanted to learn about the Lord, she was willing to help. Pastor Hutson passed the mantle on to her daughter, Pastor Tracy Hopson and her grandson, Minister Pleas C. Hutson. Pastor Mary Selester “Gran” Hutson leaves to cherish her memory: 5 children, Fredie (Risa) Hutson, Freda (B.C.) Cooper, Anna Hutson, Clark (Thelma) Hutson and Pastor Tracy (Terrance) Hopson, all of Flint; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Lillie Sims and Virgie McMullan, both of Gobles, MI and Annie Wright of Kalamazoo, MI; 2 sisters-in-law, Janice Tolbert of Paw Paw, MI and Angie L. Tolbert of Mississippi; close cousins, Quester McNair and Virgie Walsh, both of Flint; a host of many, many close relatives and friends. Pastor Hutson was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Pleas Hutson; daughter, Theresa Hutson; grandson, Fredie L. Hutson II; great-granddaughter, Caleda; great-grandson, Jovan Wells; 4 brothers, J.B., Jessie, Bunch and Charlie Tolbert; son-in-law, Edward Stanley, Sr.; 2 sisters-in-law, Flossie and Martha Tolbert; niece, Barbara Ann. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Arif and staff, Dr. Aziem, Pam, Becky and Nurse Joy.
