FIELDS, Mrs. Mary Lucille - Age 79, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Willowbrook Manor. Family hour 10:30 AM Thursday, October 6, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Michael L. Pettigrew officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Thursday. Mrs. Fields will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, with the family present from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM to receive friends. Mrs. Mary L. Fields (79), was born March 23, 1937 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to Lela Williams and William Greer. She was happily married to her husband, Robert H. Fields for 60 years. During her transition from earth to heaven, she was residing in her home in Flint, Michigan. Mrs. Mary L. Fields was a member of Damascus Holy Life Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. S. B. Harris. She will always be remembered in our hearts forever and ever. We Love You MOM! Mrs. Mary L. Fields truly loved her family. On the 28th of September 2016, at 5:49AM, she went to claim her mansion in the sky and join all of her loved ones that had gone before her. Mrs. Mary L. Fields was a praying mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend; who truly had a special relationship with the Lord. She loved the Word of God and enjoyed reading her bible. In fact, she loved quoting Psalm 23 in its entirety. Mrs. Mary L. Fields was very quiet and shy. Her interest included family, cooking and maintaining contact with out-of-state relatives. She enjoyed spending time with all her children. Mrs. Mary L. Fields leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Robert H. Fields; 2 sons, Robert H. Fields of Phoenix, AZ and James Fields of Flint; 6 daughters, Mildred L. (Johnnie) Wyatt, Mary L. Fields, Robbie M. Fields, Debra A. (Pastor Michael) Pettigrew, all of Flint Township, MI Tami J. (Carlton) McIntosh and Christina M. Fields, all of Flint; 15 grandchildren, Robert H. Fields, Anita Fields, Pete Fields, Lanese Fields, Lonnie Fields, James Fields, Raymond Fields, Frederick Fields, Chelsey Lepard, Rayonna Burton Fields, Autumn Fields, Allissa Fields, Caron McIntosh, Corone McIntosh and Shaniqua Fields; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; mother, Lela Williams of Dyersburg, TN; 7 brothers, Ulysses “CC” Walker of Dyersburg, TN, Effus C. Walker of Lockhart, TX, David E. Walker of Mt. Vernon, IL, Robert L. Walker of Dyersburg, TN, Larry Greer, Michael Greer and Kennedy Green all of Flint; 3 sisters, Nellie M. Hartsfield of Dyersburg, TN, Venus M. Townsend of Flint and Darlene Brinson of San Diego, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of which she loved dearly; special aunt and uncle, Nellie and Noble Carter of Dyersburg, TN and special friends, Sandra Walker and Ola T. Dunn. Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by her father, William Greer and brother, Rueben H. Walker.
