Mrs. Martha Linda Stone

STONE, Mrs. Martha Linda - Age 66, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 1258 E. Humphrey Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Terry Randolph officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Family and friends will assemble at the church 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Stone will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Martha “Linda” Stone was born February 5, 1949 in Birmingham, Alabama. The seventh child of the late Paige and Johnnie Milhouse. She graduated in 1967, from Parker High in Birmingham, Alabama. Moving to Flint in 1970, Linda was employed at Hurley Hospital for 25 years as an ER Nurse. She met the love of her life Glen Stone in 1977 and they were married November of 1988. Separated only by death, she cherished the memories of her husband; now they’re reunited by her passing on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Linda became a child of Christ at the tender age of fourteen, under the leadership of Reverend Leigh in Birmingham, Alabama She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino and watching sports. Mrs. Martha “Linda” Stone leaves to cherish her loving memories: sons, Eric Durkins-Stone and Antwan Durkins both of California; brothers, Paige Milhouse, Jr., John (Lottie) Milhouse, Walter and Charles Milhouse, all of Birmingham, AL; sisters, Barbara Bond of Flint, Gloria (Haywood) Battle of Birmingham, AL; brothers-in-law, Daryl Stone and Doherty Scott; sisters-in-law, Sheila Lowe of Sturgis, MS, Robin (Tommy) Jackson, Alicia (Jerome) Dantzler, Faye Stone, Earlie (Ernest) Brooks, Shirley (Earl) Watts of Milwaukee, WI, Janice Scott; 17 nieces and nephews; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Bernice Hunltey, Shirley Atkins, Easter Smith and Bonnie Cole Mrs. Stone was proceeded in death by husband, Glen Stone; parents Johnnie and Paige Milhouse; sister, Henrietta Rhynes; nephew, Clarence Rhynes; niece, Sandra Williams; cousin, Burnetta Milhouse.
